Our bodies navigate us through the stress and unpredictability (and beauty! and magic!) of life and could all use a little love and attention.
Bodywork is a moment to rest, reset, and reconnect with yourself in a calm, welcoming space.
Each session is tailored just for you. Before we begin, I’ll ask you a few questions to understand how I can support you. During the session, we’ll use aromatherapy and breathwork to amplify the hands-on work.
My intention is that you walk out the door feeling a little lighter, a little more at ease, and a little more connected to yourself.
Offerings
Each session includes aromatherapy and is customized for you using a blend of techniques:
Swedish
Swedish uses long, slow, intentional strokes to calm the nervous system and invite deep relaxation. This work is great for anyone who wants to let go of tension and stress and fall into a dreamy headspace during the session.
Deep Tissue
Using firm pressure and slow strokes, deep tissue massage targets specific areas of concern. If you experience chronic pain, postural imbalances, or are recovering from an injury, you may benefit from deep tissue massage. With this type of work, we also use the breath to help guide the process of release.
Myofascial Release
This modality works with both the muscles and the fascia. Fascia is connective tissue that holds the body together. Working with the fascia can improve muscle function and create a feeling of spaciousness in the body. Myofascial work is a great option for athletes or anyone with chronic tension or scar tissue.
Reiki
Reiki uses gentle, soothing touch to bring balance to the body. If you’re looking for deep, restorative rest and want to feel as though you’re wrapped in a cozy cocoon, reiki is for you. Combining reiki and massage is a lovely way to release blocks and balance your system.
A note on Covid-19: During sessions, I am masked up and ask that you are too. It’s my intention to make the space as safe as possible so I follow disinfecting and hand-washing protocols, but there’s always a risk of exposure. Please reschedule if you are feeling any flu-like symptoms or think you may have been exposed to Covid.
We’ve all got a key to our own healing and transformation.
For many years, I moved through the world in a dissociated state: I got a degree, bought groceries, and paid my energy bill, but I wasn’t really truly present for much of it. Lights were on, but nobody was home. I believe in the power of bodywork, because it’s how I found my way back home, back to myself. When we feel safe, comfortable, and fully present in our skin is when we are our most creative, connected, and vibrant selves.
There are lots of ways to tune into our bodies: touch and breath are two that I focus on. Our session is your time to let go of the mental chatter and to-do’s and listen to your body. I don’t do this work to “heal” anyone or give answers. I’m here to hold you and hold space for whatever comes up. I work with all bodies and my work is trauma-informed.
My intention for each session is that you walk out the door feeling a little lighter and a little more connected to yourself.
Sessions take place in my home studio on the edge of the Marigny and the French Quarter in New Orleans. If you’re allergic to cats, please let me know and we can make arrangements.
xx Cassi
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist (#LA9135) and a Reiki I practitioner. I’m grateful for the opportunity to study with teachers like Brian Utting, Josephine Edmondson, Desiree Pais, and Magnus Ecklund. My practice is also inspired by an exploration of Feldenkrais, breathwork, Somatic Experiencing, and yoga.
